National Bank of Rwanda has soft launched the eSub financial inclusion platform

National Bank of Rwanda, the country's central bank, had selected Chella Software's financial inclusion platform to launch eSub, its retail bond platform.
The platform enables any citizen with a mobile phone (even with only a feature phone) and a wallet to open an account with the central depository, invest in bonds issued by the central bank, trade in the secondary market and receive coupons and maturity amounts.
eSub integrates with NIDA, the country's national identity system, with Airtel and MTN, the two mobile network operators, with the central depository and with other central bank systems.
